What a Mom Circle is
A Mom Circle is a small, facilitated gathering where mothers across generations come together for the conversations we don't always have space for anywhere else.
Some weeks begin with a question or theme. Other weeks make space for what the women in the room are carrying. You can talk, listen, laugh, sit with complexity, and show up without preparing anything.
You'll find familiar faces as women return, while our Central Ohio drop-in format also leaves room for someone new to pull up a chair.
This is not therapy, a parenting class, networking, or an unstructured meetup.
It's simply a place to be a person among other mothers for 90 minutes.
Mothers Across Generations Belong Here
Maybe you're pregnant with your first baby. Maybe you're raising toddlers, teenagers, or adult children. Maybe you've become a grandmother and motherhood is changing shape again.
The different stages aren't something we work around. They're part of the point.
There is something powerful about sitting beside women who are a few steps behind you, beside you, and ahead of you.
You don't need to follow a particular parenting philosophy, work arrangement, family structure, or version of motherhood to belong.

The story behind Mom Circles
In this brief video, I share why I believe gathering women across generations can change more than our individual experience of motherhood.
Frequently Asked Questions About
Mom Circles
What is a Mom Circle?
A Mom Circle is a small, guided gathering where mothers come together for honest conversation, meaningful connection, and shared support. Unlike a traditional parenting class or casual mom meetup, each circle is intentionally facilitated so that every woman has space to speak, listen, reflect, and feel less alone in motherhood.
Mom Circles bring together mothers across different ages and stages, creating opportunities to learn from one another without comparison, pressure, or unsolicited advice.
Who are Mom Circles for?
Mom Circles are for mothers in every season of life. You may be pregnant, newly postpartum, raising young children, parenting teenagers, supporting adult children, or entering grandmotherhood.
The goal is not for everyone to have the same experience. The differences within the group are part of what make intergenerational motherhood circles valuable.
How are Mom Circles different from a regular mom group?
Many mom groups are organized around playdates, children’s ages, parenting advice, or casual socializing. Mom Circles focus on the mothers themselves.
You do not need to supervise an activity, make small talk, promote a business, or arrive with parenting advice. The conversations are guided and intentional, while still leaving room for the needs and experiences of the women in the group.
Mom Circles are designed to offer something many mothers are missing: a consistent place to be seen as a whole person, not only as someone responsible for caring for everyone else.
What happens during a Mom Circle meeting?
Each 90-minute gathering is gently facilitated by Chelsea, who may introduce a thoughtful question, theme, reflection, or conversation prompt.
Topics may include:
Identity changes in motherhood
Friendship and loneliness
Relationships and family dynamics
The invisible mental and emotional load
Work, caregiving, and personal priorities
Boundaries and expectations
Community, belonging, and asking for support
The values shaping your family and your life
There is no homework, preparation, or pressure to have the right answer. You are welcome to participate in the conversation or spend more time listening.
Do I have to share personal information?
No. You will never be forced to speak, disclose something personal, or share more than feels comfortable.
The purpose of the circle is to create enough trust for honest conversation, but every participant has the right to choose what she shares. Listening is also a meaningful way to participate.
Confidentiality and respect are important expectations within each group.
What if I am nervous about joining a group of women I do not know?
Feeling nervous is completely understandable. Many women want deeper connection while also feeling hesitant about walking into a room or video call with strangers.
You do not need to be outgoing, polished, or immediately comfortable sharing. The group is intentionally small. Many women return regularly, which allows familiar relationships to develop naturally over time. You may also meet someone new, and there is no expectation of instant vulnerability.
The circle is facilitated so that one person does not dominate the conversation and quieter women are not overlooked.
Are Mom Circles only for new mothers?
No. These are not only postpartum support groups or new-mom groups.
Mom Circles intentionally include women across generations and stages of motherhood. A mother with a newborn may be sitting alongside someone raising teenagers or someone whose children are adults.
Different seasons create different perspectives, but many of the deeper experiences of motherhood—identity, responsibility, relationships, belonging, change, and care—continue throughout a woman’s life.
Are virtual Mom Circles available?
Yes. Virtual Mom Circles are available for mothers throughout the United States and meet through a private video call.
Virtual circles allow women to join from home without arranging childcare, commuting, or living near Central Ohio. You will need a reliable internet connection and a reasonably private place where you can participate comfortably.
Virtual groups are listed in Eastern Time, so mothers in other time zones should convert the meeting time before selecting a circle.
Are there in-person Mom Circles in Central Ohio?
Yes. In-person Mom Circles are available in Central Ohio, with current options serving mothers near the Sunbury, Delaware, and greater Columbus areas.
We meet on Wednesday evenings from 6-7:30 pm
How many women are in each circle?
Each Mom Circle is limited to approximately 7–10 women.
A small group allows enough variety for meaningful conversation while still giving each participant room to be known. Limiting the size also helps create consistency, trust, and a more personal experience than a large community event or open meetup.
How long does a Mom Circle last?
Meetings are approximately 90 minutes.
You are welcome to attend mom circle for as many weeks as it’s serving you!
How much does it cost to join a Mom Circle?
Central Ohio Mom Circles are $15 per gathering. There is no membership or multi-week commitment required. Simply register for the Wednesday(s) you'd like to attend.
Virtual circle pricing and structure may vary by group and will be shared before you commit.
Can I bring my baby?
Babies are welcome when needed, particularly during virtual gatherings and in the early postpartum season.
The goal is to make participation realistic for mothers, not to require perfect conditions. At the same time, participants are encouraged to create as much space as they reasonably can to be present for themselves during the hour.
We cannot provide childcare on-site, therefor we ask that only babies pre-crawling join in person.
Who facilitates the Mom Circles?
Mom Circles are created and facilitated by Chelsea Skaggs, a relationship coach, educator, and community builder with more than six years of experience hosting groups for mothers.
Chelsea’s work focuses on helping women and families navigate identity, relationships, shared responsibility, emotional connection, and the changes that come with parenthood. Her facilitation style is warm, structured, honest, and grounded in the belief that mothers need meaningful community—not more pressure to perform motherhood correctly.
How do I join an upcoming Mom Circle?
Central Ohio: Choose an upcoming Wednesday and reserve your seat for $15.
Virtual: Complete the short interest form below with your availability. You'll hear from Chelsea when a group that fits is forming.
You might leave a circle with...
A thought you hadn't considered.
Someone else's story still sitting with you.
A little more confidence in your own voice.
A new person you're glad you met.
Something you've been carrying feeling a little lighter.
Or simply the relief of having spent 90 minutes somewhere you didn't have to be anything other than yourself.
That's enough.
